About us

The history of the T84 gearbox is above all that of a passion for mechanics and authenticity, born of an observation shared by all enthusiasts of vintage Jeeps: the famous “jumping” second gear.

This “Achilles’ heel” of the original boxes prompted Alfred Barbé, a talented mechanic with a passion for historic vehicles, to find a lasting, reliable solution.

It was in a Béarn garage in 1993 that the T84 box was born.

Here, Alfred Barbé develops a revolutionary high-strength steel sprocket kit, specially designed to eliminate this defect while respecting the original specifications of Jeep Willys MB and Ford GPW.

Made from top-quality materials, this kit has quickly won over restoration enthusiasts and collectors keen to preserve the history of their vehicles.
